MOMA SKY UMBRELLA
Automatic open/close mechanism
Defying expectations, the Sky Umbrella's black
exterior hides a bright, pattern on the inside.
That surprising blue-sky interior echoes the
playful career of Tibor Kalman, whose
work is featured in MoMA’s collection.
Originally introduced in 1992 by designers
Tibor Kalman and Emanuela Frattini Magnusson,
this smart, understated black umbrella
offered here in a compact collapsible design
that opens to reveal a bright, startling
burst of color: a photo-printed lining of a vivid
blue sky strewn with fluffy white clouds.
